I usually avoid cheese but today I was in a fuck em mood so I didn’t just chz up Mark’s side, I did the whole thing which was a good call. This is kind of like a crust-less meat pizza in a bowl since this is a low carb recipe. From the standpoint of not wanting to clean more dishes I chose against doing anything fancy while forming the meatballs; no salt, no spices, no breadcrumbs, nothing. And this recipe was ultra perfect. I added spices to the sauce and all of the toppings that I usually add to my cheese-less pizza (jalapeno, mushrooms, fresh basil & olives). This is something I could enjoy often.
- I formed meatballs with ground turkey and put them directly into a skillet with a TB of oil
- I browned/semi cooked them on all sides with a sprinkle of spices (I used fennel, black pepper & salt)
- In a baking dish I added tomato sauce then put the meatballs on top
- I added more sauce & my favorite pizza toppings and whole bunch of spices
- I mixed everything up and put it in the oven for 30 minutes at 425 with foil covering the dish
- After 30 minutes I threw the foil away and added 3 ounces of cheese with a sprinkle of garlic powder
- Put back in the oven till everything is melted. ENJOY
